- It states source of authority- 'We the people of India' - Rousseau's General Will Theory.

-Reflects Basic philosophy.

-States- nature of state i.e Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic.

-42nd Amendment Act-  inserted words- socialist, Secular and integrity.

-Preamble is not enforceable.
