Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe-

Article 46- provides that the state shall promote with special care the educational and economic interests of the weaker sections of the society and in particular, of the S.C and S.T and shall protect them from social injustice and all forms of exploitation.

Schedule Caste- means such castes, races or tribes or parts of or groups within such castes, races or tribes as are deemed under Article 341 to be schedule caste for the purpose of the Constitution.

Schedule Tribes- means such tribes or tribal communities or parts of a group within such tribes or tribal communities as are deemed under Article 342.
