Why Did the Titanic Sink so Fast?

The Titanic struck an iceberg on the evening of April 14, 1912 at 11:40 p.m. ship time. The ship sunk less than 3 hours later. The reason the ship sank so quickly is because the front of the ship was filling up with water quickly, causing the front of the ship to go under first. This caused the back of the ship to angle upwards out of the water, and eventually the ship broke in half. About 1,514 people had died. Less than a third of the people who were aboard the ship had survived.
